Our Mission

True Freedom is an independent, evangelical, non-profit organization dedicated to reaching those locked behind steel doors in jails and prisons all across Ohio, those trapped in homelessness on the streets of Cleveland, those abandoned in nursing homes all across Northeast Ohio, and those shackled in addictions with the message of True Freedom that is found only in Jesus Christ.

New Growth in 2014

True Freedom launched in March 2012 with two chaplains and a vision to reach the unreachable.  During these two and a half years God has grown the ministry exponentially!  In 2014 alone True Freedom has already trained and equipped twenty-four new volunteers, unveiled two new outreaches, hired a new chaplain, and inaugurated a summer internship for college students.

In addition to the new offerings, God continues to expand True Freedom’s core ministries: thus far in 2014 True Freedom has conducted 480 worship services, programs, classes, and seminars, with nearly 2000 individuals making a first-time profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!

Please continue to pray for and support the ministry as the Lord revolutionizes the lives of broken individuals through True Freedom.

The 7th Annual Don Cockroft Golf Outing was a great success! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped!

True Freedom Touches Over 38,000 in 2013

2013 was a banner year for True Freedom, as the Lord opened the door for over 38,000 individuals to be touched. With the explosion of new volunteers added to our ministry and the rapid increase in programming offered across the state, 21,033 inmates participated in our services or classes, with 1,961 making a first-time profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Homeless outreach also saw significant growth in new volunteers, which allowed us the privilege of serving over 16,000 hot meals on the streets of Cleveland each and every Saturday night throughout the year. Our teams on the streets saw 521 men and women either make a first-time profession of faith or rededicated their lives to serving Jesus Christ.

Our Nursing Home outreach and our Addiction Recovery program touched an additional 2,000 individuals for the Kingdom. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to show Himself mighty.

Governor Signs Bill at True Freedom

The Governor of Ohio, John Kasich, visited the offices of True Freedom Ministries.  The governor chose to perform the bill signing ceremony here because it is “the headquarters of True Freedom Ministries” (Call and Post, July 18, 2012).

The bill revises Ohio law so that unintended penalties for ex-offenders are minimized. Ex-offenders can achieve “Certificates of Qualifications for Employment” and obtain limited driving privileges for work purposes. In addition, ex-offenders meeting certain criteria can also obtain cosmetology, optical, construction and security guard credentials.   All this allows ex-offenders to be able to earn a living and more easily reintegrate into the community.

True Freedom is committed to using this law to help inmates re-enter society as productive, godly member of society.

Your Pay Pal donations to True Freedom Ministries are completely tax deductible.
